Bison City • Sunday May 20, 2018
Bison City Rod & Gun, located on Ohio Street in Buffalo, hosts their annual "Teach Me to Fish" event with full participation and support from the Erie County Federation! DEC biologists provided live and mounted samples of fish and pond life. Seasoned fishermen taught how to tie the Palomar Knot and "the art of casting". The boy scouts were on hand to assist and to earn their fishing merit badge.

East Aurora Fish & Game on Luther Road in East Aurora, NY hosts their annual "Teach Me to Fish event with participationa and support from the Erie County Federation. Kids of all ages are taught how to cast, bait a hook, remove the fish and even fish identification. Lunch is provided free of charge. Prizes are awarded by age group, with many participants receiving a new fishing pole and reel combo!

Ellicott Creek Park
Ellicott Creek Park in Tonawanda NY is the location for the northtown edition of "Teach Me to Fish" - hosted by the Federation and supported by the Safari Club of WNY. DEC biologists provided live and mounted samples of fish and pond life. Kids were taught the "art" of casting, where to fish in Erie County and how to rig lines for success. A Salen's hotdog lunch is provided free of charge. Prizes are awarded by age group, with many participants receiving a new fishing pole and reel combo!
